What makes goat farming more interesting?

Back four years ago, i was staying at a colony were most of them were well educated, most of them were well settled and moreover no family in that colony does farming. My house was build inside a four cent plot, so that i didn't had sufficient space for farming. Even though i had some farming between exterior walls and fence, i felt like to raise some goats. Around 3 km from my home, there were a goat farm run by meenakshi amma, what she does is, she takes the goat to some places from morning to evening, goats grazes every places, and at evening she takes them back home, thats it no additional foods or goat feeds.

Mom decided to buy two pregnant goats from meenakshi, and it costed around 7000 rs. In order to make a goat house, mom called his brother haneef. Soon after calling, uncle made a steel house for goats, and we bought goats to home. As usuall, as i said we were in staying in colony having most of them well financialy settled, they felt like it will be smelly, it will make disturbances to them. We convinced them, it wont make any disturbance for you. I tied a sheet underneath the cage to collect urine and its waste, so as to not make smelly for the neighbours. Soon goat gave birth to two kids, one male and a female. When i keep my hands to goat kids they push my hands and tend like fighting me, they have a special affection towards us, more over than chickens. Around after 4 months, we sold the 4 goats for a price of 14000 rs, double the price than we bought, we never spend a single penny to feed them, just tied them at some plots having grass, gave them water and some leftover vegetables from market.

Now we are staying at place were most of them rely on farming, we bought a plot of 40 cents, we have sufficient space for farming. Around 30 broiler goats are farmed here, each goats sold at 5000 rs after 6 months, and our main income are goats. Basically they yield us high income plus they are very easy to raise and handle. All we need is around 15 cents, and a good house.

WHAT MAKES GOAT FARMING INTERESTING:

INCOME:

As i said before it yields us high income, which is more than chicken farm, all we need to do is to raise them as a broiler, just like chickens, also your locality needs the demand for goat meat. Goats which i raise in my farm are brought by near by mutton stalls.

EASY TO FEED:

Just like chickens, now there are a lot of goat feeds which are available in market, you can feed them those to raise quickly or else you can get free left over vegetables from market to feed. In my case i have a vegetable market near, so i get a 5 sack of waste vegetables like banana peel for just hundred rupee.

AFFECTION:

Although we farm for income we have a personal affection towards everything we farm, whether it is plant or animals. From my experience i felt goats were much more interesting to farm. Although we love our chickens, they have a fear towards us when we come close to it, goats are vice versa, they come close to us, every time they come and check us to know what food is available.
